Below you will find a guest article from Jimmy D. Brown, developer
of the Mutiple Streams Theme wordpress blog theme.

For more information on turning on ten “built-in” ways to make
money from your blog, visit

http://www.infoprofitshare.com/go.php?offer=healthelp&pid=5

The Easiest Way To Outsell Other Affiliates

If you’re an affiliate marketer, then you’re always looking over
your shoulder to see if the competition – your fellow affiliates –
are catching up to you. Or, worse than that, you’re looking up
ahead trying to catch up with them!

At times any market can be crowded, so selling the same thing to
the same group of people means you’re lucky to get just a small
share of the market. Imagine having thirty-five Wal-Mart stores in
one small town, all competing with each other to get the local
business. You get the idea.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. The easiest way to outsell
other affiliates is this…

Turn your AFFILIATE offer into a UNIQUE offer!

You see, most affiliates try to sell the product as is. If your
prospects are shopping around, they’re going to skip all the “buy
from me” offers.

Instead, they’re going to focus on those offers that give them an
incentive to buy. And that means you can outsell the other
affiliates simply by offering a bonus product to anyone who buys
through your affiliate link.

I’ve been teaching this concept since 2001 and, all things being
equal, those affiliates who put this into practice will outsell
those who don’t virtually 100% of the time.

It’s a very simple strategy. Let’s break it down into three steps…

Step 1: CHOOSE Your Incentive

Your goal is to make your offer stand out from the crowd by
offering an incentive to buy from your link, thereby boosting your
conversion rate. And that means you need to offer a bonus that
enhances or otherwise complements the affiliate product.

Did you catch that? Your bonus should “enhance” or “complement”
the product you are promoting as an affiliate. That’s what makes
for the best incentive.

————- Case Study ———–

Let me give you a “real” case study (not made up … actually done by
one of my customers).

A customer – who is also one of my affiliates – recently purchased
my Multiple Streams Theme wordpress blog theme. He loaded it to
his site. Then, he invested a little time writing a small report
that teaches how to customize and tweak the theme. He offered this
small report, filled with insider shortcuts and tips for enhancing
the theme, as an incentive to anyone who ordered the Multiple
Streams Theme through his affiliate link.

Brilliant.

I’m just guessing, but I bet the report didn’t take him half an
hour to write. He just logged his own personal experiences. And
yet it has high value to anyone who has plans to order the theme.

That’s how you outsell other affiliates. You turn your AFFILIATE
offer into a UNIQUE OFFER.

————- Case Study ———–

One way to do this is by reading the sales letter for the product
and choosing one particularly enticing bullet point.

Example #1: If the sales letter tells prospects they can learn how
to get traffic from social media sites, then you can create a
report called “27 Ways to Use Social Media to Drive Traffic to Any
Website!”

Example #2: If the sales page for a diet book promises a month of
low calorie recipes to customers, you can create a supplementary
low calorie recipe book and give it away to those who buy from your
link.

Example #3: If you’re promoting a dog training book and you see a
bullet point about eliminating bad behaviors such as jumping,
incessant barking, digging in the gardening, etc. You can create a
report or even a video called, “The Secrets of Training the Perfect
Dog: How to Keep Your Dog’s Paws Off Your Guests, Off Your Counters
and Out of Your Garden!”

The point is, your freebie should be directly related to the
affiliate offer. You want your prospects to buy through your link
just because the incentive is so enticing.

What kind of incentive? You can do videos, software, coaching,
advertising, installations, services, etc.

But, “pound for pound”, the best and easiest incentive to create is
a small report.

Step 2: CREATE Your Incentive

Once you decide on the topic, your next step is to create the bonus
product. If you’re creating a short report or video, you can
probably finish it in one day. Otherwise, you can hire a trusted
freelancer to do it, which frees your time to focus on marketing
the offer!

Tip: You find ghostwriters on sites like WarriorForum.com,
Elance.com, and GetAFreelancer.com. You can also ask for
recommendations from your colleagues via your social networks or on
business forums.

Step 3: CIRCULATE Your Incentive.

Finally, your last step is to promote your offer by letting
prospects know that anyone who buys the affiliate product using
your link will get the bonus product.

Let your list know. Tell your blog readers. Tweet about it.
Purchase advertising. Distribute free marketing materials such as
ezine articles. Mention it in sig files at forums. You know the
drill.

Now, there are a few ways to deliver the product:

1. On the download page. If you’ve developed a relationship with
the product vendor, he may agree to set up a special sales page
that promotes the bonus plus a special download page so that
customers can download it instantly after purchasing.

2. Manually. You can have customers forward their receipts and
then you send them the link to the bonus.

3. Automatically. You can also set up a special email address with
an autoresponder, so that anyone who sends you a receipt gets the
download link automatically. (Naturally, some people will try to
“cheat” this system.)

And there you have it – the simple three-step strategy you can use
to outsell your competitors and put more money in your pocket.

It’s so easy you could be making more money by tomorrow… if you get
started today!

Speaking of “making more money”. If you have a blog, how would you
like to have ten “built-in” ways to increase your affiliate
commissions from your blog? Visit
longer be available after Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10PM. Jimmy is
“retiring” it then and discontinuing all sales.

In the continuing quest for more traffic to your site or more low cost traffic as we all are looking for, I am going to suggest a few ideas that will help. PPC has always been a good way to drive traffic to our site, however, it is certainly not low cost. SEO methods may or may not be considered low cost. In this article we are going to look at a few traffic generation methods that makes use of other marketers efforts and resources and are low cost.

Exchange blog posts with other marketers in your niche. That is starting to become known as guest blogging. That way your name and url is exposed to a larger readership. This is usually a win-win situation that can be made more attractive by using their affiliate link in your article enabling them to make money when a purchase is made. If an added incentive is needed offer to include the blog post in your newsletter. If you interest several bloggers in doing this your should see an increase in targeted traffic to your site.

Another low cost traffic idea is to cross promote with another marketer that is closely related to your product or service and trade product links on your thank you page/download page. Another way is to have the marketer point to your product sales page using his affiliate link. This presents another buying opportunity to someone that has just made a purchase and is in the mood.

Similar to trading products links on thank you/download pages is to exchange links on your newsletter subscription page. Consider also trading endorsements in your welcoming emails sent to new subscribers.

Creating and marketing audio interviews with other marketers has been popular for sometime. Consider teaming up with other marketers on writing an article. Two marketers sharing their bit of expertise in one article will make for an unique article. Publish the article to article directories, newsletter and blogs will bring some low cost traffic.

Distributing ebooks and reports have long been used as a low cost marketing tactic. Ebooks and reports contain web site address and possibly several affiliate links through out the pages. Many marketers distribute free ebooks and reports with their affiliate links through out to get their affiliate links in front of as many people as possible. Consider also if you have your own product making the ebook or report rebrandable. Rebranding enables you to replace the links in the paper with your links. A quality rebrandable ebook or report distributed freely can be a source of targeted traffic. This is used often in an effort to make the ebook or report go viral. Going viral is when the report keeps on being distributed with no further effort by the marketer. It is a condition you want to encourage. There are places on the web that will rebrand for you. Often you see a paper being marketed with branding available for an additional fee. Rebrandable software can be downloaded from ViralPDF. It seems to be reasonably priced. Using this software the distributers name can be rebranded.

Your marketing efforts need to be directed to meeting your customer needs or in many cases your potential customer needs. We all want to make the most sales possible and achieve a good return for our efforts. One of the best ways to do that is to understand the needs, wants and desires of your customers and develop marketing tactics to meet those needs, wants and desires.

Keep marketing as simple as possible. I have been to splash pages that ask for first name, last name address, telephone number, City, State and email address when all that is needed for your list is first name and email address. Have you ever clicked a link to get to your download link and have to search a web page trying to find a link to the product you want.

People looking for information on the internet don’t always read the complete post or article. They tend to scan and click away to another site in their search for information. Sometimes they are randomly surfing. In any case your marketing tactics should include attention grabbing headlines, a provocative question or statement and maybe a interesting graphic. Use caution with graphics as if they are not used prudently may clutter up your message.

In your marketing emphasize the benefits of your product or proposal. We all look at an offering in terms of how will the product benefit me or how will this help me with my problem. In other words whats in it for me. If your marketing efforts address those questions you will have interested people reading your material. After presenting the benefits of your product you may then want to bring out some of the outstanding qualities of your product such as now available at a large discount, periodic updates are included with purchase and this product is only available from wwwinc for a limited time.

Some key marketing points to address in your marketing campaign,

Know and understand your potential market.

Clearly emphasize the benefits of your product. Demonstrate value. Let them know what is in it for them. People are interested in what your product can do for them.

Choose headlines that attract readers. Remember you may have only a few seconds to capture the attention of your readers.

Develop trust with your potential market by being believable and oriented toward the needs of your customers. If a customer purchases your product or service and they are pleased with it they may buy from you again. If they are not pleased they won’t.

Remove as much of the element of risk as you can. Many marketers transfer risk form the customer and to the marketer. This is usually done by having a money back policy if not completely satisfied for any reason. A time limit can be used here – return within 30 days etc. .

Testing your marketing methods is essential. Not every tactic works. Test your marketing methods. Weed out the non effective tactics. When you find a tactic that works, rinse and repeat.

Your mom probably taught you to do the best you can. In school, your teachers insisted on you doing your very best job (and your grades reflected your efforts). And so you might be tempted to make sure everything is perfect on every task you do.

Sometimes you do need to be perfect.

Sometimes.

But you also need to have the wisdom to know when you can turn out work and complete tasks that are less than perfect.

You need to know that sometimes you’ll turn out

average work and improve it as you go.

Take a look at the company Microsoft. They don’t put out perfect software products. Instead, they do what they can up front and release imperfect software. The reason they do this is twofold:

1. They’ll still make money. Because they offer free patches and upgrades, people are confident enough to essentially “beta test” their software. (Even when they’re no longer officially in beta.)

2. Microsoft knows that they’ll improve their product faster by releasing it sooner. Think about it: thousands of people using their software will uncover the bugs much faster than a handful of beta testers. And so the company releases software that’s not yet perfect because releasing it is the fastest way to improve it.

Now before we delve into this further, let me make a note: Sometimes your work will never be perfect. If you try to make perfect something that can’t be perfected, you’re only wasting time. You need to do the best you can and move on (and make improvements later if need be).

The other thing you need to recognize is whether you’re using perfectionism as a way to not finish a product.

Indeed, perfectionism is procrastination’s twin sister: Except perfectionism makes you FEEL like you’re really making progress.

How can you tell?

Simple: If you’re missing deadlines because you don’t think your project is “ready,” then some sort of fear (of success or failure) may be revealing itself in the form of perfectionism. It’s one thing to want to do a good job… it’s an entirely different matter to have a project stall because you don’t think it’s “perfect” yet.

Getting over perfectionism requires a couple steps, including:

Step #1: Figure out why you can’t move forward. That is, what “pay off” do you get if you don’t finish the project? Why are you afraid to move forward?

Sometimes people can’t move forward due to a fear of failure. That’s pretty common. When you spend a long time thinking about how good it will feel to achieve your goals, the prospect of failing can seem frightening.

Tip: If this is your fear, remember that you don’t get just one chance to find success. Thomas Edison completed thousands upon thousands of experiments as he sought to create the light bulb. If he thought he had just one shot, he would have quit when his very first idea failed.

On the flip side, sometimes people fear success. They don’t know what success will bring – they only know it’s scary because it IS unknown.

Example: Someone who’s looking to make a lot of money with a project may suddenly start worrying about something like relatives asking for money, complicated tax paperwork and similar. And in doing so, he talks himself out of wanting to be successful.

In still other cases, some folks feel like they don’t deserve success. And so they sabotage themselves. Being a perfectionist (and thus never finishing anything) is one way to do it, while avoiding the guilt that goes along other behaviors like procrastination.

This step is the hard part.

Once you can be truthful with yourself and admit you’re using perfectionism to avoid finishing a task (and determine why), you’ll be well on your way to moving past perfectionism…

Step #2: Imagine the worst case scenario.

Perfectionism is usually caused by some sort of fear. But if you really let your mind go wild and imagine the WORST that can happen… you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find it’s not all that frightening as you thought.

So go ahead and imagine your worst possible fear about your goals and this project

Let your mind go wild about what could happen if the project wasn’t absolutely perfect. And then imagine the worst case about what would happen if you succeeded or failed on the overall project.

Example: Maybe the person who’s working on a new business is suddenly gripped by the fear of begging relatives and complex taxes.

If you let your mind run with those fears, you’ll see there not so scary.

Example: The newly successful person can instantly eliminate the fear of complex taxes by hiring a good tax accountant.

Step #3: Commit to moving forward.

Once you’ve uncovered your specific reason for perfectionism and imagined your worst fears, you’ll feel a whole lot better. And that’s the perfect time to take a massive step towards your goal (as action will make the rest of your fear melt away).

Example: If you’re doing something like writing a book, force yourself to write the introduction… and give yourself permission for it to be awful (you can go back later and edit it).

The job of an affiliate marketer is to promote a product making an appealing presentation to the customer. Be familiar with the product you are promoting.

For many marketers affiliate marketing has and continues to be a very profitable business. Not all marketers do well. Many do and rely on affiliate marketing to be the main stay of their business/

As in any business knowledge of the business including some essential tips and strategies can have your business up and running while minimizing start up problems. Many common start up mistakes can be avoided.

The job of an affiliate marketer is to promote a product making an appealing presentation to the customer. Be familiar with the product you are promoting. If you buy and use the product you are promoting you will be able to market the product convincingly. In fact using the product and writing a product review is a good way of establishing your knowledge and involvement with the product. This a lot simpler with digital products than hard goods.

If you promote more than one product it is generally best to market them separately. Use a separate splash page for each product. In that way any incentives you offer for leaving there name and email address with you can complement the product being offered. The splash page can also be use to supply more benefits gained ordering the product. This is assuming the splash page directs them to the affiliate sales letter and order page. In some cases a testimonial can be beneficial. Don’t clutter up the splash page, keep it clean and crisp with the main focus on the sign up box and submit button click thru to the order page. Capturing customer and visitor contact information is an important part of internet marketing.

To sell anything you need people looking at your offer. You really don’t want just anybody checking out your promotion you want people who are interested or have expressed interest in your product. This is called targeted traffic. To sell anything on the internet you need targeted traffic. Targeted traffic comes from many sources including pay per click marketing, search engine optimization, article marketing and blog and hubpages. Targeted traffic methods will not be covered in this article due to the large scope of the subject.

An autoresponder service will store the contact information you have captured and enable you to send follow up messages to the list members. You may program the autoresponder to send out prewritten sales material and newsletters and schedule delivery. Autoresponders also provide list maintenance. If a list member quits your list the autoresponder will not send further mailings to that person. Usually they have an contact capture form for your use.

Try to resist the temptation to take on several affiliate marketing projects when one starts to bring a return. While you do want multiple income streams, start slow and build your marketing methods and strategies before branching out. Learn to do your first one well and the next ones will fall into place much faster.

Stay abreast of what is going on in your part of the business. I don’t mean to invest in every new launch some guru puts out. Subscribe to a few newsletters. Regularly visit a few forms to find out what others are doing and how they do it. Forms are also a great place to get answers to your marketing problems.

You often hear about folks praising those who multi-task. I mean why just do one thing when you can do two or more things in the same amount of time?

That’s true only in certain cases. You can certainly make out a grocery list or a to do list while watching TV. And you can certainly do some reading (or listen to digital books) while doing things like driving. Waiting for an appointment or exercising.

However, multi-tasking doesn’t work very well when you’re trying to do two tasks that use the same resources.

Example: You can’t write a report and write an email at the same time.

Think about it: You’re writing an email. Then you turn your attention to your report. You have to now read the last few paragraphs that you created previously to reorient yourself to the task. You write a page of your report and then go back to your email. Now you spend a minute rereading the email so you can recall your previous train of thought.

And so on.

Point is, you’ll spend more time just going over your previous work again and again to help you refresh your memory and reorient yourself to the task. And that wastes time.

There’s a better way: Single-task. Focus on one thing at a time. Finish that one thing. And then turn your full attention to something else.

Splash pages play are important in your affiliate marketing program. Anyone responding to an marketing message whether an email, pay per click or ezine ad etc. will normally be directed to a splash age. This concept started when marketers began building their mailing list. In an effort to maintain contact with a visitor for follow up messages a mailing list was essential.

Although the main use of a splash page is to capture names and email address some marketers are adding additional functionality to the page. The best way to get a feel of how splash pages can be used is to look closely at the splash pages used by the marketers in the ezine advertising or respond to some cpc ads. If I listed several URL,s to several splash pages it would be considered advertising and I probably could not get this article published.

Generally the splash page will offer some kind of incentive in exchange for your contact information. People are becoming increasingly reluctant to turn loose of their contact information and incentives of high perceived value in some cases become quite compelling. In fact incentives to make the incentive offered more attractive are at times used. Often time restraints are placed on the incentive like -be sure and obtain your free ebook by May 1st -. This encourages us not to think about it for a period of time, but, to act now. Maybe you will see -don’t miss out I only have 75 of these available-. This introduces the concept of scarcity which motivates us to take action before it is to late.

Some marketers use a splash page to promote other offers or other sites. In my way of thinking another offer or another URL could cause people to click away from your splash page and significantly reduce the chance of capturing their contact information.

Once the contact information is captured then other offers and sites can be introduced.

Another way to introduce another offer is direct them to another offer site or A One Time Offer Site when the submit button is clicked on the splash page. The main consideration is to obtain mailing list information.

A nice looking and well presented splash page is a plus. Don’t clutter up the page with several graphics. It’s a good idea to show an image of the ebook, report or soft ware being used as an incentive. Keep the content form as the central focus of the page. If your discussion regarding the incentive offered is lengthy place the contact form in more than one location. Maybe place it at the top and middle or middle and end.

A splash page can be designed to be used with several different promotions. This simplifies the marketing effort and minimizes splash page creation. Having a separate splash page for each promotion has advantages over the one page fits all. They can be customized to bring out the benefits of how this incentive enhances the product or opportunity being presented. Possibly even a bigger reason in using a dedicated splash page is a separate splash pages simplifies tracking to see where the hits came from.

If you’re like most folks, you probably spend a lot of time waiting. Try turning down time into productive time by having list of items that you can work on during unexpected delays.

Sitting on the train, waiting to get to your destination.

Stuck in traffic, waiting for the congestion to clear.

Waiting at the doctor’s office, waiting for the mechanic, waiting for the parent-teacher conference to start, waiting for the commercial to be over so you can get back to watching your favorite TV program, waiting to pay at the grocery store…

You can manage your time better by turning your downtime into productive time. For example:

Answer emails on the train.

Tip: If you don’t have a connection to the Internet, then download your emails into an email client like Outlook Express before you get on the train, answer them and put them in your outbox so they go out the next time you connect.

Create your to do lists while waiting for a doctor’s appointment.

Use a voice recorder to create verbal to do lists, get organized or make notes while you’re stuck in traffic. You can also catch up on your “reading” by listening to iPod books or books on CDs.

Pay bills online or create your shopping list during commercial breaks while you’re watching TV.

Return short phone calls while walking between a parking lot and your office or store.

Bottom line: If you have (involuntary) downtime, you probably can fit a small task into that timeslot.

Energy in motion is a definition for momentum. We increase our marketing momentum by taking determined action each day/s the sales manager says, make something happen.

Energy in motion is a definition for momentum. It carries the thought of continuing to take action. It is easy for us to visualize a multi ton train picking up speed as it starts its journey. We say it is increasing momentum. Energy is being expended to increase the momentum. Once going it is hard to stop. Anything in the way gets moved out of the way. How does this apply to internet marketing? We need to continue adding energy to our campaigns by taking action. We need to move out of the way any thing that slows us down.

To paraphrase Tony Robbins, “Take massive action”. Or as sales people are told routinely “make something happen”. We need to take purposeful action daily to keep our momentum to carry you through to your goals As they say we need to get on a role.

To make something happen routinely we need to be persistent. Persistence is what separates the men from the boys. Education is great, high intelligence is better, but, it takes a persistent approach to build momentum and build a business.

Mental and emotional forces are important considerations of building momentum. When you are taking action toward your goal every day, you feel inspired. A passion rises within you that that enables you to by pass these bunny trails that come up and stick to your action plan. An action plan should be written out and referred to often. Remember it is written on paper and not inscribed in concrete. By that I mean the action plan should be updated and changed as necessary when new information is available. It does not mean to not pay attention to it. An action plan is a series of small goals. These goals should stretch your capabilities and not present an ambitious plan that looks good on paper, but is beyond reasonable reach.

Most of us have heard the term critical mass used in reference to our online businesses. That term was first used in physics in relation to the amount of radio active isotopes needed to sustain a nuclear reaction. That amount of radioactivity was critical to the reaction. The term is used in business to acknowledge size, revenue generated and market share the company enjoys in an industry. This can apply to a church. Does it have building size, staff and programs in place to attract and hold parishioners?

In internet marketing it refers to among other things product development, access to the product and degree of automation. Access to the product includes (advertising) making the availability known and list marketing. Use of a website or blog to present the product details and product picture. The method of ordering should be presented. Referring to the degree of automation, digital ordering needs to be automated to accept charges, process the request and handle any type requests rising from the order.

Keep taking action and growing your business. As in the train example, if the train slows down more energy is required to pick up the momentum. With ever increasing momentum it becomes easier to grow your business as you become known and more people want to do business with you.

You often hear about folks praising those who multi-task. I mean why just do one thing when you can do two or more things in the same amount of time?

That’s true only in certain cases. The tips above are perfect examples: You can certainly make out a grocery list or a to do list while watching TV. And you can certainly do some reading (or listen to digital books) while doing things like driving. Waiting for an appointment or exercising.
